Every evening, the Bridge Education Centre comes alive with laughter, learning, and meaningful interactions. Once the school day ends, children gather at the centre where education extends beyond textbooks, creating an environment that balances academic support with personal development and joyful experiences.
Traditional games such as Thayam and Pallanguzhi have become a regular part of the children’s daily routine. More than just recreational activities, these indigenous games strengthen concentration, patience, strategic thinking, counting skills, and decision-making while encouraging teamwork and healthy social interaction. After a long day at school, the games offer children an opportunity to relax, build friendships, and enjoy learning through play while reconnecting with their cultural heritage.
As the evening progresses, the focus shifts from play to academics. Children dedicate time to completing their homework, with centre teachers providing individual guidance whenever they encounter difficulties. Rather than simply helping them finish assignments, the teachers encourage students to understand concepts independently, ask questions confidently, and develop consistent study habits. This daily academic support has contributed to greater classroom confidence and improved learning outcomes.
Language learning has also become an integral part of the evening routine. To strengthen communication skills, the centre has introduced a dedicated Communicative English hour where children are encouraged to converse in English with their friends and teachers. Beginning with simple greetings, everyday conversations, and short sentences, students gradually build confidence in using the language naturally. The teachers—affectionately called Anna and Akka by the children—actively participate in these conversations, creating a friendly, pressure-free environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process. Over time, this consistent practice is helping children improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, listening ability, and spoken English while fostering the confidence to communicate beyond the classroom.
By combining recreation, academic guidance, and language development within a caring and supportive environment, the Bridge Education Centre continues to nurture children who are not only better learners but also more confident, expressive, and socially connected individuals.
