Exploring smarter ways to harness clean energy, the Auro Innovation Centre has developed a hybrid renewable energy prototype that integrates a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) with a solar photovoltaic panel. The model demonstrates how renewable energy technologies can complement one another, generating power from both wind and sunlight to improve efficiency and reliability under varying environmental conditions.

Unlike conventional horizontal-axis wind turbines, the Vertical Axis Wind Turbine is capable of capturing wind from any direction, making it particularly suitable for urban and low-wind environments. The addition of a solar panel enables the system to generate electricity during sunny conditions while complementing wind energy production when sunlight is limited. This hybrid approach maximizes the use of renewable resources and demonstrates the potential of integrated clean energy systems.

Developed as both a research platform and an educational model, the prototype provides students, researchers, and visitors with a hands-on opportunity to understand the principles of renewable energy, sustainable engineering, and hybrid power generation. It will support future studies on wind harvesting efficiency, energy optimization, and innovative applications of renewable technologies.

Through projects like this, the Auro Innovation Centre continues to foster scientific curiosity, encourage sustainable innovation, and inspire the next generation of engineers and environmental problem-solvers committed to building a cleaner and more energy-secure future.
