At the Bridge Education Centre, learning goes beyond textbooks and homework. Through interactive activities, traditional games, and engaging visual experiences, children are encouraged to explore new ideas, strengthen their academic skills, and develop curiosity about the world around them.
Learning Mathematics Through Traditional Games
Math came alive through familiar games like Pallankuzhi and Chess at the evening study centre. While playing Pallankuzhi, children practised counting, addition, subtraction, grouping, and logical thinking as they counted and distributed seeds across the pits. Chess introduced them to strategic thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition, concentration, and planning ahead.
Beyond mathematics, the games created opportunities for children to take turns, make decisions, interact with one another, and learn from their mistakes—all while having fun. By connecting mathematical concepts with play, the sessions made learning more natural, practical, and enjoyable.
Discovering the Wonders of Nature
On July 25, 2026, the children had the opportunity to watch Wonders of Nature Around Us, a documentary series launched by the Sri Aurobindo Society that explores fascinating plant and animal behaviours through short films.
The learning continued on August 1, when a documentary exploring how different animals move and use their legs was screened for children at Kalanchiyam in Bahour village. The visual storytelling sparked curiosity and encouraged children to observe the natural world more closely, while helping them understand how animals use their bodies for movement and survival.
Growing Through Regular Learning
Alongside these special activities, regular academic sessions continue at the evening study centre. Children receive guidance from centre teachers as they complete their homework, strengthen foundational concepts, and develop consistent learning habits. Together, these activities create a supportive environment where children can learn, explore, and grow with curiosity and confidence.
