July was an engaging month for the STEM programme, with students exploring concepts across Biology, Physics, and Chemistry through interactive, activity-based learning sessions. The sessions encouraged students to move beyond textbook learning and understand scientific concepts through observation, experimentation, and practical exploration.
In Biology sessions, students explored “Invisible Living Beings Beyond Our Naked Eyes,” introducing them to the microscopic world and the organisms that cannot be seen with the unaided eye. They also learned about life processes in animals, exploring how animals carry out essential functions necessary for survival.
The topic “Cell: The Building Block of Life” introduced students to the fundamental unit of living organisms. Through these sessions, students developed a better understanding of how life is organised, from individual cells to the processes that sustain living organisms.
Physics sessions brought scientific concepts to life through “Exploring Magnets” and “Electricity – Circuits and Components.” Students investigated the properties and behaviour of magnets, developing an understanding of attraction, repulsion, and magnetic interaction.
The electricity sessions introduced students to the basic components of electrical circuits and how they work together to create a functioning circuit. By exploring these concepts practically, students could connect classroom theory with familiar electrical systems and everyday applications.
Chemistry sessions focused on understanding substances and their properties. Through “Exploring Substances: Acidic, Basic and Neutral Substances,” students were introduced to the differences between acids, bases, and neutral substances and explored how these categories can be identified through their properties.
The programme also included 10th Class Chemistry Experiments, providing students with opportunities to engage more directly with laboratory-based learning. Alongside these sessions, Chemistry Pre-Assessment Exams were conducted to understand students’ existing knowledge and support their learning needs.
Across the month, the STEM sessions created opportunities for students to observe, question, experiment, and discover. By bringing Biology, Physics, and Chemistry into practical learning environments, the programme aims to nurture scientific curiosity and help students develop a stronger understanding of the world around them.
